Twiggy was startled by the she-cat's reply. For once, the loner
had just wanted to help, no catch intended. "I don't want anythi-
ng from you." she said, hoping she'd look sincere so this kitty wo-
uld let her help. "I just remember the leaf-bares back in EarthClan
,remembered how desperately we needed help, and thought ma-
ybe you needed help to. After all," she continued, "two jaws can
hold more than one." She smiled. It was really cold. Of course it
was, it was snowing. The little white flecks were getting bigger a-
nd coming faster, sprinkling the ground like the leaves in leaf-fall.
"But if your gonna let me help," she shook her pelt which was bei-
ng coated in snow, and continued, "we need to get moving, befo-
re it gets to cold to find any!"

Moonfeather's eyes searched the loner's face, gaging the genuineness of the gaze. She weighed the options: A.] sit here for StarClan knows how long trying to drive this cat out, therefore taking the risk of losing her herbs. B.] Just drive her out anyway, again wasting valuable time C.] let her help, and keep an eagle eye on her.
Moonfeather sighed, "Alright. But If one hair stands up on my back, you're gone alright?" She said dryly. "Let's get a move on." she grumbled, shaking even more snow from her pelt. If they hurried, the roots and stems of her herbs wouldn't be hard to get to, but the flowers and leaves might not be able to be salvaged. She started heading north, keeping to the trunks of the mighty trees for warmth. Her head reeled with a list of herbs she was short of: Watermint [which had probably already frozen], marigold, burdock root, thyme, lavender, juniper berries, she had a few bundles of poppy seed, but not enough, and borage [which was already bitten by the frost, though the roots might be salvageable]. Worry coursed through her veins, giving extra kick to her steps. "Hurry." she breathed as she trotted quickly over the forest floor.

The black she-cat looked as though she were weighing her options. So, Twiggy did all she could; waited patiently. The only time Twiggy moved was simply to flick the snow off her fur so she wouldn't freeze to death. Finally, the cat spoke. "Alright. But if one hair stands up on my back you gone, alright?" Her voice was dry and cold, as though she were talking to a half dead, flea bitten, disease ridden mongeral [which Twiggy was not] begging for the smallest amount of food. But why should she talk to me differently? I am a rouge. I am not to be trusted. "Let's get a move on." said the black she-cat again. Twiggy gave a small bounce of joy. She could be saving this Clan's life! She hurried along, close behind the black she-cat, always a bit to the left or right and close enough that the cat could see her. Twiggy didn't want her to think that she was about to attack her or something. "Hurry! The she-cat called. Twiggy increased her pace. The other cat did too, but Twiggy increased hers enough that she was exactly parralle with the medcine cat, their paces now matching exactly as Twiggy slowed down. "I still don't know your name!" Twiggy said. She hoped it wouldn't irritate the other cat, after all, the erron they were running [sorta] was very important. Very important. Twiggy kept her pace matching the DarkClan cat's as they moved onward, into the storm.

Snow was pelting down in sheets now, making it hard to see one's own paws. Moonfeather thanked StarClan for her thick, sleek fur to put an edge on the chill that bit into her body. Exasperated and in quite the rush, Moonfeather was almost loping through the snow, bounding over the piles of white that lay before her. She found her way first, to the tallest Gnarlie in the forest. Below it usually grew marigold and tansy, side by side [which was sort of unusual for the two herbs, but hey, strange things grew in the heart of DarkClan territory.] A wave of relief crashed over her as she saw the sad little leaves poking out from under the heaps of snow. "Quick!" she ordered, "Dig these herbs out, the orange one and the yellow one. ALL of them." She began to frantically dig through the caked soil, ignoring the cold that bit her face and paws as she burrowed deeper into the earth. She grabbed a Marigold stem with her jaws and pulled gently and the plant gave way to the pressure. She balanced the herb carefully on her tongue as she dug more and more.
[time constraints push me to stop here. sorry for the short post. ]

They wandered on through the sheets of snow that separated the rest of the world from the two cats. The white made a sort of fog that was deeply inpenatrable. When the black bark of a large tree was distinguishable through the falling snow, Twiggy thought nothing of it. But apparantly the other she-cat did for she turned and made a beeline straight towards it.
"Quick! Dig the herbs out, the orange one and the yellow one, ALL OF THEM!" Understanding her urgency, Twiggy began to dig, trying her hardest not to damage the herbs roots. Digging her paws into the dirt, she scooped the dirt out, pawful by pawful, throwing it behind her. After the first one was dug out enough she gripped the stem delicatly between her teeth and tugged.
When the first one was out, she dug a small hole in the snow and set it there, so it was touching none of the fluffy white flakes. She continued, working as fast as she could to please the other she-cat.

Moonfeather was pleased with the help she was getting, but as she trotted up to where she usually found the catnip, her heart dropped to her paws. The blackened and frost bitten leaves were in sad shape. There was no way she would ever be able to salvage these. Adn greencough was coming over her clan like a storm. Her body froze with fear and dread. Oh StarClan! What am I going to do? Worry coursed through her. Agitated, she tore at the hardened earthe beneath her until her paws were bloody. She completyely forgot about the Loner pacing beside her and yowled in distress. This was the herb she had NEEDED abvove all others! Her clan wouldn't survive without it!
[again, sorry for being so short.] :[

Twiggy kept digging up the herbs that the other cat had indicated, putting them in a small pile until everyone of them was up. She was feeling pretty proud of herself and stood a little taller.
The distressed yowl of the other she-cat distracted Twiggy. She turned to see that the other cat had her claws dug into the ground. Blood was coloring the snow a sickening crimson color where her own claws had puntured her pads and where the snow was making them cold and raw.
"Great StarClan!" It was a saying she still used from Clan life. "What's the matter?!" She sprinted around to where the other cat stood, to glance at what she was staring at so desperatly.
The blackened and frost bitten leaves of a precious herb lay dead before them. Now Twiggy was no medicine cat, but her memory told her that the herb that was causing so much distress was the vital plant; catnip. Used to cure greencough, it was essential to Clan survival.
"Calm down." She whispered to the cat. "Calm." Twiggy placed her tail comfortingly on the other she-cat's shoulder. "Perhaps you can get some catnip from some other Clan." FireClan might have some. I don't know much about their territory, but it could be.... She thought. Or maybe WaterClan. Featherwhisker might have some. Jasminebreeze and Featherwhisker were DarkClan's only hope of survival.

Moonfeather couldn't see straight. This could not be happening, not to hr beloved clan. All the same, she knew she had to keep a cool head if she wanted to solve this. Twiggy's small words barely fluttered past her ears as Moonfeather closed her eyes and considered the options: 1.] She could keep searching, hoping to find herbs that were not frost-bitten and hope for the best. 2.] Take Twiggy's advice and follow her own instinct that told her to go to the other clans for help. 3.] Return to her clan empty-pawed.
After very little deliberation, she opened her jay blue eyes. With a very calm, very different nature than she had had two seconds ago, she meowed, "Alright, follow me. We're going to WaterClan." With a sweep of her plumed tail, she turned and headed east, towards WaterClan camp. As she continued, she thought how absurd this would be, taking a loner with her into enemy territory. The situation was begging for disaster. But what else could she do?

[glow=red,2,300]You should make a new thread in the EarthClan board, we have to pass through there to get to WaterClan territory. [/glow]
