what I really look like&&
Like it or not, this is what I look like. I'm not attractive, I'm not a she-cat magnet, I'm not cute! I have never seen what I actually look like, but it's been described like this.
body.Jaypaw is a very, very small cat. He's definitely not among the largest, that's for sure. His lack in size is made up for with his strong legs that can spring far. His jaws are nothing to sneeze at, either -- they can crunch down sharply and speedily at something. His size allows him to speedily get past opponents if ever encountered in battle, which is rare since he's a medicine cat apprentice. It definitely would have served him well if he had become not a medicine cat apprentice, but a regular apprentice -- however, this ended up not being the case. Jaypaw's lack of size made him get teased before, and though he has no idea how tall he really is, he always makes himself look bigger and stronger than he actually is. Jaypaw isn't really strong or muscular, reason being is because he never developed it. This makes any attacks whatsoever harmless against larger cats and not very strong against smaller or average-sized ones. Perhaps it is best that he stayed a medicine cat apprentice, one reason or other.
eyes.Jaypaw cannot see. His eyes have a glaze over them, and pupils that would ordinarily be black are completely invisible and instead replaced with a white space where they would ordinarily be. His eyes over all if he did have a pupil would be an icy blue, and they still are bluish, but it's definitely not as easy to see with the glaze. Because he can't see, and he's blind, he typically can't "look" at other cats; however, if he wants to hide the fact, he pretends like he can, moving his head toward other cats and opening his eyes. You can't tell from a distance, but if you're up close you would notice that "his eyes look kinda funny." It really annoys Jaypaw when others point out how weird he is because he can't see, and he usually hates going out to cats that don't know him because of it. Actually, rather, he hates his Clan as well for it because they're just as stereotypical about the eyes as anyone else.
tail.Jaypaw has a very long tail, which is particularly useful in gathering herbs. His tail is very helpful in the way that it balances him because his eyes can't help him determine which way is up and which way is down because they are sightless. This makes it easier to maneuver around, because then he has some sort of grip. He always touches things that he finds curious with his tail first, so that he won't get lost if it's churning water or death falls.
who I am &&
What's wrong with my attitude? Don't like me? Deal with it. Pff, I could hardly care what you think of me, because this is who I am, and you must deal with it. Who cares if you hate me? I don't!
short.He's definitely not a very nice cat, nor will he ever be. He's rude to any cat, whether friend or foe, and though he can be sweet and has been sometimes, he's usually sarcastic and has a negative look on life as it is. In fact, his negativity has somewhat annoyed others, because he absolutely despises the life that he got stuck in. Those who know him are used to it, but strangers really get mad at the disrespect that they are treated with by Jaypaw. It seems like he hardly cares about anyone, and in desperate situations, he stays calm and doesn't seem to care about others. This makes him tough to deal with, especially since he's a medicine cat apprentice and he's usually the one others run to if they need help. Jaypaw hates swimming -- he's afraid of water. As well, he hates when others nitpick at him being blind -- he wants to be treated like a regular cat.
strangers.Jaypaw doesn't trust any strangers and will make it clear that he will not trust them until he gets a name or picks up a particular scent. He's not very nice to them, either; even if his leader tells him to treat them with respect, he'll always treat them like intruders until he's gotten to know them better. This often causes conflict between them and him, and Jaypaw has often been called problematic because of his ways of dealing with strangers. Usually the fights are really stupid, too; for instance, one could be about catching a mouse. Jaypaw doesn't reveal that he's blind to strangers because he'd rather be treated like a regular cat by them, though sometimes it's obvious when he doesn't make eye-contact with them or he doesn't seem to see where he's going.
enemies.If you thought Jaypaw was hostile to strangers, you're going to flip at how hostile he is to enemies. This includes enemy Clans. Even though he's separated from them as a medicine cat and he isn't one to fight because of it, he still treats them with full hostility and doesn't like them messing with his Clan. He also will make his point clear that he won't tolerate them intruding on Clan territory and, unless ordered to by his mentor, will not heal any cats that come from enemy Clans or he just really doesn't like, and even if he does, he'll definitely complain to heck about it. Jaypaw always picks fights with enemies, no matter where they come from, and sometimes these fights can get as advanced as tooth and claw, at which time his mentor or his leader must break it up. Jaypaw is strictly against the idea of having prisoners.
friends.Jaypaw doesn't really have many friends, nor does he want many, except for those who understand him. However, if he does have a friend, he's usually a lot less hot-tempered around them, even though he can get very hostile to them at times. He's usually very patient and even playful around his friends. Typically, he has a good attitude toward his friends even if he is a bit pessimistic. Indeed, though it isn't like him, if they need comfort or support and no one else will give it to them, Jaypaw will be among those who do. He looks after his friends, and will certainly defend them. Jaypaw also has basic emotions; if his friends betray him, he will be hurt, and if they get mad at him, he will be a bit downhearted, though he usually doesn't let these emotions show nearly as clearly as most other cats, and covers it up with hostility. Since hardly anyone wants to get to know him, understand him more, or become his friend, Jaypaw is a bit lonely in most cases.
clan.Though he's definitely not nice to his Clan at all, and he definitely despises it with every inch of his being, he is very, very loyal to his Clan and will fiercely defend it and help cats in it with his life. He tends to share the same ideas as the leader but will argue when he thinks that it benefits the Clan more. Jaypaw feels like an outcast in his own Clan, but that doesn't stop him from being supportive and treating all of his patients, even though he never expresses any sympathy for any of the cats that he's treating. Though he usually gripes a lot, he is loyal to his mentor and his leader, and will follow their orders. However, one thing Jaypaw would never understand is how he got to this place in the Clan, which he usually sulks about -- he never wanted to be a medicine cat, and a lot of cats assume that he never will because of his extremely bad attitude toward it. This doesn't prevent his loyalty from reaching the cats, even though he's mad at them, however. He will fiercely defend at the cost of his very life.
abilities.Jaypaw has some abilities to make up for his blindness that other cats don't. One of these abilities is the fact that he can read minds. However, he hasn't quite learned how to control this ability yet, and sometimes he intrudes on thoughts that he never wanted to know, just by thinking of the cat that was thinking. Though he can't see, he makes up for it in his astounding memory, his smarts, and his excellent other four senses, which he uses to make up for his loss of sight. As well, he can also sense other cats' emotions without even sensing their thoughts, and this is the part that he can control freely. Jaypaw, even though he doesn't believe in its strength, can contact StarClan out of free will. He can also enter others' dreams.
what happened to me &&
I am not a hero. And I guess, it's doubtful I really will become one. I'm not the greatest cat ever either. And I guess my history, well, it's not really interesting -- it's not a novel. But go ahead and read it, go ahead. Just don't laugh.
the:litter.There would be three kits, three kits born to a litter from a suspicious tom and a very highly respected she-cat. One of the litter would never learn to walk. Another one of the litter would never see the light of day, taken away from it by sharp talons. The last would never be able to see. All three of the litter were named before the siblings died. Jaykit, Swiftkit, and Fallingkit were their names, and that's the names they endured through the rest of their kithood, or at least, Jaykit and Swiftkit. When the eyes of the kits opened when they were at their youngest and their weakest, the mother and father were displeased -- one of their kits ended up blind, and it was supposed to be among the strongest of their kits, because later, it would be the only one that survived.
Jaykit was among rogues that still clung to the beliefs of the Clans but had been disloyal to their Clan and kicked out. They used to be FireClanners, but they had broken the warrior code numerous times and they would travel alone together. They looked on the bright side often, but not when their kits were born. Fallingkit wasn't taken more than a heartbeat after his eyes had opened, and an eagle decided that it would have kit for dinner. Because the rogues often traveled, Swiftkit was left behind and never found again, because she couldn't walk right, and she couldn't keep up with their fast footsteps when they were traveling ahead. Jaykit was the only survivor, and he did so by brushing up against his father because he was blind.
It was a poor, poor litter. And they already lost two kits. They would lose the third as well.
abandoning.Jaykit tried to keep up. Anyone who would ask him, and he would reply to them, "They left me; I didn't leave them." And indeed, that's what it seemed like they did. When Jaykit tried to go after them, they purposely went around trees to make sure that Jaykit was bumped off. They never liked the kit. Who would want a blind kit, anyway, when you wanted a strong litter whom would be able to defy even the leader of FireClan? Though Jaykit tried his best to keep up, nothing they did allowed him to catch up. They swerved around trees, and Jaykit often ended up with splinters in his nose, and though he didn't know it yet, they were trying to rub him off. And indeed, they had finally succeeded once, when he bumped into a tree, and he stumbled backward, not feeling his father's side brushing his pelt anymore.
Jaykit scrambled up to his paws. Where did his father go? Where was Mother? They couldn't have abandoned him, could they? Jaykit felt unwanted. What was wrong with him? He let out a fierce cry into the sky, trying to get his father and mother back, anything not to be separated with the few of his family that survived. He didn't feel them, and even with his sensitive ears he didn't hear them call back. They were gone. Jaykit was alone.
lost.After the abandoning of his parents, Jaykit was on a lost road. His paws carried him to places that he didn't know, and he often got himself into trouble, especially since he had only four senses to rely on to identify the things that he was running into and he had no idea what he was finding. He was hungry, cold, and alone for a majority of the time. He knew by then, and he learned when he was lost, that his parents never wanted him. In fact, no one ever wanted him. He was like a puppy that had been kicked by its Twolegs too many times; it knew by then that its Twolegs, its owners, its family never wanted him by their side. Jaykit had many unshed tears during this period, but even if he shed them, he knew there was no point to it because tears wouldn't bring his parents back. Nothing would.
Jaykit often called out to the sky, wanting some one to pay attention to him. He felt cold, and alone, more so than he had ever been before in his life. He needed someone to care about him, someone to feed him, someone to think about him instead of just themselves. He needed a home. His calls were often lost, thought of as just a mouse squeaking, but one such Clan picked up his cries...
found.A WaterClan patrol was cruising by, made up of warriors unknown at this time, when suddenly they heard the loud cries of a kit. They knew they had to do something to help the kit; no matter where it came from or who its parents were, the warrior code demanded that a kit in need would never be abandoned. Hurriedly, the patrol searched for the kit, until they came upon what they were looking for: a kit hardly at the age of five moons, calling out for someone to take care of him. It was a small gray tabby, and though some WaterClan cats wondered why his blue eyes were glazed over like that, others could hardly care.
He didn't seem to have any Clan scent on him, so they decided to take the poor kit home. They had no idea where he had come from, but he looked extremely thin and needed to be nursed and cared for. So that had been the top priority of the Clan at that time, to take care of some kit that they didn't even know. But Jaykit couldn't be happier. He was cared for. He was home.
not:a:warrior. It wasn't long before Jaykit started to get better and developed a nasty attitude because of how others treated him as a blind kit. Often, he had to point out every single day that he could, in fact, detect where prey was because of his nose. But he lived through each day in the Clan with anticipation, because he had always wanted to become an apprentice, a great apprentice that would show them all that even a blind, helpless kit like him could become a warrior too, and show them that he actually wasn't helpless but indeed could help.
However, his destiny quickly changed when he received a dream from StarClan, telling him of his abilities, telling him of who he would become, and telling him that he would never become a warrior. Jaykit's hatred of StarClan developed after such a dream, but he had no choice but to contact Featherwhisker about the decisions that StarClan made about him, and instead of having a warrior apprentice ceremony as he had long hoped, he had instead had a medicine cat apprentice ceremony. He has been toiling and working hard as a medicine cat ever since, still lusting over becoming a warrior.
this is me in action &&
A leaf drifted silently in the wind as it descended to the ground, lightly brushing up against the ground's grasses and settling down on the ground below it. The breeze was a slow and steady whisper, letting no one forget of the easy-going day that was ahead of them. The leaf remained completely undisturbed as it lay on the ground and listened along with others to the hissing of the wind as a breeze drifting along.
Something, however, disturbed the leaf as pawsteps trampled over them, and the owner of the pawsteps, a small gray tabby cat with blue eyes glazed over that seemed to pierce the very sky with its sightless gaze, hurtled through the camp as the tom came across a patch of catmint. He hated being this close to Twoleg territory. Twolegs were never his favorite creatures, and being here made his pelt prickle with unease. However, leaf-bare was fast approaching, as the air grew crisp and cold and wrapped its icy claws over the land, so Jaypaw instantly knew this had to be done.
The blind medicine cat apprentice crouched down, a delicious smell reaching his nose. Yes, he had found it. Beat that, cats who can see. He snagged it with his teeth, pulling it from its roots. Boy would his mentor be proud. Suddenly, Jaypaw shook his head. 'Nah, that can't be possible. No one is proud of a blind cat.' A sudden plume of anger washed over him as he remembered how underestimated he was and how no one would ever recognize his achievements.
He shook his head again. Now wasn't the time to focus on how proud he was of his achievements or how no one would recognize him. He had a job to do. Catmint clasped in mouth, Jaypaw bounded up and out of the Twoleg garden. He was certain that if he stayed there any longer, he would have been met by a curious kittypet. Kittypets, hmph! Jaypaw could care less about them. He took one glance back at the Twoleg garden to make sure that a Twoleg wasn't curious enough and didn't hear his pawsteps, and, with a twist, he darted back for his home land, his Clan.
((Sorry, that wasn't my best. I was short on time. ^_^"))
